Hey everyone. I’m planning to use my Switch on a 1440p monitor (just one monitor) and also stream for my friends on Discord. What methods have you used to achieve something similar? I think it would involve a mix of things like Elgato HD60, a budget USB capture card, mClassic by Marseille, or OBS with other software. My setup would be on a PC with a Ryzen 3600 and an LG GL83A-B (1440p). Of course, buying everything would work best, but I’m curious if anyone has managed to get by with fewer items. I’m trying not to waste money unless it’s necessary, and I’m aiming for a more budget-friendly solution.

That's exactly what you require. Capture card with pass-thought for the display, input to that using streaming software to send online. If you prefer a more affordable option, point your phone at the display and stream the camera output through Facebook or another platform. I don't know if Discord offers a phone/tablet app, but it's likely available. Of course, audio will be picked up from the room unless you connect a mic or headset to the phone; alternatively, use a webcam on your computer and mix the audio via PC inputs with a microphone for better quality. It won't match the clarity of a direct video stream into a capture card, but you won't need to purchase one.

With the standard switch, you should be able to purchase a dock and link it via HDMI. For the Nintendo Switch, you would need to follow a different configuration.
