Hello everyone, I’m planning to assemble a new PC and transfer some parts from the previous one. Based on my calculations, I’ve thought about ways to improve performance without spending much more. My goal is to achieve smooth gaming at around 2K at 144 FPS and 4K at 60 Hz. The estimated purchase date is next week, with a budget of about 1700 Euros. Usage priorities are from most to least important: gaming and browsing the internet. I’m not buying a new monitor. I’ll upgrade all components except the power supply unit and SSD/M2 drive. No need to buy an operating system. I prefer to shop at bionic.com.cy and custompc.com.cy, located in Cyprus. My preferences are AMD for the CPU and Nvidia for the GPU, and I’m open to overclocking. I don’t need SLI or Crossfire support. My monitor will be 2K and 4K resolution. The main reason for this upgrade is to pass on my old Ryzen 3600 and 1080 Ti to a friend, while setting up a new gaming rig that’s future-proof. New components I’m considering: a Prime B650M-A II motherboard (185 Euros), a Ryzen 5 7600 CPU (275 Euros), Corsair Vengeance RGB 2x16GB RAM at 6000MHz (135 Euros), either MSI Ventus 3x4070ti or Zotac Trinity 4070ti GPU (~1000 Euros), a Corsair Airflow 4000D case (100 Euros), and a Corsair H115i iCue Link cooler (150 Euros). I’ll also add an M2 SSD and a Sandisk 1TB SATA SSD, both around 2 years old. The PSU is a Corsair RMx 850 (2021) for 135 Euros, purchased last week. Any suggestions or feedback would be welcome. Thanks ahead!

I can provide information specific to the country I'm in. You may wish to share a PCPartPicker list with us so we have some context for your build depending on your location. In fact, we encourage users to format their posts in this style:

I would allocate funds to the CPU more, while reducing spending on the AIO and fans. If you opt for inexpensive placeholder fans (or just those included in the case) for now, can you handle a 7800X3D? A mid-range tower HSF will work well with it ($50), and you'll achieve significantly better real-world performance.

Thanks for your comments!
The prices here are quite high, so even a basic case might cost about 20 euros less.
The 7800x3d seems to be roughly twice the price of the 7600—would that make sense? Also, I haven’t been as puzzled by motherboards as I was with the B650 chipset. Things like coil whine and overvoltage problems are tricky. What are your thoughts on the motherboard? This generation feels really confusing to me.

Yes, the 7800X3D offers significant value compared to the 7600 when your budget allows; it stands out as the top gaming CPU available for most users. Choosing the 7800X3D means you won’t need to worry about overvolting. It might seem counterintuitive, but achieving higher performance actually involves lowering the voltage as much as possible, allowing the chip to run cooler and maintain maximum boost longer. Since the extra cache can't handle more voltage, traditional overclocking becomes impractical. This approach may appear disadvantageous, but the X3D's speed makes it worthwhile.

I’m not recommending cutting corners on the case; the 4000D is adequate, and investing an additional 220 Euros in fans and an AIO isn’t necessary. A decent tower cooler would suffice and reduce potential points of failure. Options like the Thermalright Peerless Assassin are available for around $35-40, depending on the color.

Lucky, the 12GB VRAM has been a point of concern for me, particularly when playing 4K games occasionally. My main worries were the optimization and driver problems that AMD encounters with these GPUs. Taking into account the prices you mentioned are including VAT, I would need to pay extra on top, which would significantly affect the total cost. Would you still be willing to purchase those items considering the added VAT?
