I purchased a new pc about a year ago, and all games ran smoothly for around eight months. Then Minecraft (a low spec block game) dropped from 300 fps to 30-60 fps regardless of settings. Even after a fresh Windows install, it didn’t work. I’m trying to fix this because I play the game every day. No Minecraft community forums have offered a solution. My system specs are: 1050ti, i5 7400, 8 gb ram.

It seems the GPU speed is quite high compared to the room temperature, especially for games like Minecraft. The exact frequency depends on the specific game and system settings.

Which application should you examine for checking frequency? I attempted to install Dragon Center, but it requires a lot of time to configure.

MSI Afterburner is a widely used tool, it will display short graphs. Other monitoring applications like Hardware Monitor and HWInfo64 can also record data. It looks like the GPU is not active. Or you might be connecting to the motherboard and using the built-in CPU graphics or Windows has chosen that chip for some reason.

With GPU-Z, the speed is 1342 MHz
After applying the afterburner, it drops to 999 MHz

remember, the issue is limited to Minecraft and I haven't made any mistakes. I even updated it.

That seems unusual. I didn't anticipate such a high number, though not extremely high. It feels like the card might be lacking power.
Is the power supply functioning properly?
If the game is limited to one session, I'd examine GeForce Experience (if available) for any irregularities in the game settings. Additionally, review Windows configurations that might affect the game.

Hey I_Do_Stuff,
Just checking if the issue is related to Java since you mentioned it only happens in Minecraft. Could you confirm?
I remember when I played Minecraft a long time ago (talking about 8+ years back), the version of Java used really affected my game's performance.
Although I haven't played much lately, my data might not be up-to-date, but it could still help you explore further.
