Alright. Initially, when I turn on my computer, it operates slowly. I understand that’s normal. When I begin using it or simply browse for about thirty minutes, it runs quickly and efficiently—very fast. After closing all programs and leaving it on the desktop, I depart. Upon returning an hour later, attempting to perform a task results in severe lag; it displays 100% Disk usage.

Additionally, when I start playing a game, it’s initially sluggish, but then gradually becomes exceptionally smooth. Why does this occur? Finally, if I play a game and subsequently close it, and then try to do something different like open my browser, it lags again, with the disk reaching 100% utilization. I'm unsure of the cause. Could someone please address these questions?

I would open Task Manager...and when the disk utilization reaches 100%, I’d examine the disk usage column to identify the specific application consuming so much storage. After determining the program, you might be capable of terminating its activity.

Hello zepfiz,

That doesn't seem enjoyable.
Would you mind providing your computer details?
“disk is 100%” – are you indicating that either your solid-state drive or hard disk drive is completely filled? That would likely be causing the sluggishness.
Could you clarify where you observed this percentage reading – the application, line of text, etc.? Perhaps a screenshot as well.
Best regards.

I'm unsure.

My computer specifications are:
Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 2600
Graphics Card: nVidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti
Memory: 8 GB

Additionally, I’ve noticed that my hard drive consistently reaches 100% usage when encountering unidentified processes, such as uTorrent or a program labeled "Helper." Once I initiate an activity like web browsing, the performance returns to normal. I plan to test several games and subsequently close them to investigate the source of the high disk utilization. Primarily, these issues are attributed to irrelevant programs.

Install and execute AdwCleaner:
https://www.malwarebytes.com/adwcleaner/
Remove and isolate all detected items.
Avoid utilizing uTorrent, as this can transform your computer into a source of adware and malware, among other things.
I briefly employed it on my prior system; I subsequently ceased using it entirely after several months when Malwarebytes identified numerous potential unwanted programs (PUPs) within my storage – these bypassed Windows Defender entirely.
The "close" function doesn't truly terminate the program; the interface shuts down, but the application continues to operate in the background. You must locate it in the system tray and close it from there.

I exhausted all options, but the situation remains unchanged. Today I played Minecraft and launched Chrome in order to enjoy music while gaming. Remarkably, Disk usage reached 100%. What is happening? I am unable to simultaneously listen to music and play Minecraft, despite my PC’s powerful hardware. When I accessed Task Manager, it indicated that the “System” process was consuming 100% of resources. After ceasing all applications for a period, everything reverted to normal… WHY?!
