You're experiencing issues running Madden NFL 20 on a potato with an i5 3470, 8GB RAM, and an integrated GPU. The game boots but closes quickly after about five seconds. It seems the system is trying to locate a dedicated GPU but isn't finding it, possibly due to the Windows 10 installation.

The GPU needs for Black Ops III are less demanding than those for Madden 20. You shouldn't assume every program will behave the same way under such intense conditions. Just because one game lets you play smoothly at a high frame rate doesn't guarantee the same for others.

Using only the integrated HD 2500 graphics brings you very close to meeting the essential system needs.

That's what I expected. However, I also tested BO3 (which is much more challenging) on this potato... only at 15FPS minimum settings 400x300... but still it worked. Still frustrating, as 20 won't even start and it's not running at all at 15FPS.

And you're likely correct. But can I be certain this is the reason for the game ending instead of another possibility?

When issues arise on your PC, you need to check them in a game that works properly, not one that won't run.
