It seems there are too many pads for a capacitor but not enough for a MOSFET (unless 4-pin ones exist), and even that might be tricky. Probably just some connections will be missing rather than the whole system failing.

It seems like the issue might be with the controller or the FireWire port itself. Plugging in the FireWire header didn’t help, which suggests the problem isn’t with the connection. It looks like FireWire may no longer be supported.

I just inquired with the seller, who admitted to a mistake when he first received the board. Hopefully, no further errors occurred with this item.
