I’d check if using an AverMedia portable gamer would let me record and compress it in OBS with NVENC. I’m curious whether it’s possible to move the encoding from the CPU to the GPU’s dedicated chip, especially since both use H.264.

But I can't record or send my PS4 without causing a huge CPU load, which is why I was wondering if NVenC could work for other devices too.

You'd need it for your PS4, not your PC, since it's designed to work with that console.

Sure, but if you're not using your PC for anything besides streaming, then high CPU usage doesn't really matter.

It’s likely the PS4 already supports streaming directly to Twitch and recording gameplay, so there’s no need to run it through a PC.
