This model comes with a good discount and a two-year warranty, though I'm concerned about the PSU. What are your thoughts?
I would certainly swap the PSU, I haven't heard of Endorfy PSUs. Based on what I understand, it's not on this list. You might want to use this alternative PSU instead.
a little over 5000$ (but it's not in the US and typically costs around 15,090 here)
It looks reasonable considering the cost of the 5090. I'll keep monitoring the PSU, but I won't be concerned about it until the warranty ends.
GPUs are simple to swap out. I wouldn’t purchase one with the goal of keeping it for eight years.
The 5070 Ti looks like a better choice, with plans to replace it in three to four years using a 7070 or similar.
If you need VRAM right now, consider a used 4090.
isn't the 5070 ti bad, huh?
I checked some reviews and honestly don’t see any good ones...
I was checking out the 4070 ti super since it solved the VRAM problem and is about half the price of a 5070 ti (used vs new, that is).
A used 4090 is still pretty costly here—around $5090 so it’s not a huge deal, but not much cheaper either.
This kind of guidance seems extremely risky. It might be acceptable in a situation with no dedicated GPU, but recommending the most power-hungry card in history is questionable. If he follows your instructions, the PSU could fail, though it should still be covered under warranty. However, they might face delays or complications when trying to return it.
Can it perform that?
The last time I used a weak power supply, the GPU would limit its performance.
