The once popular mining sector pushed GPU prices higher, but once mining faded, those prices stayed the same.
AI players struggle against major firms, ordering large quantities of cards, which makes GPU makers overlook them as important.
NVIDIA holds almost complete control over the market. AMD and Intel lack the strength to challenge it from the 40-series launch up to the b580 and 9070 releases. At that stage, NVIDIA dominated fully. After the 50-series came out, it took charge of manufacturing GPU chips and pressured AICs that didn’t follow its rules. Maxsun hasn’t received any 50-series chips yet, since it sold many inexpensive 20-series cards years back, which prevented it from acquiring 30 and 50 series cards after the launch.
In China, there’s a famous image of a yellow dog that has died and gone to heaven—we refer to it as the "yellow dog dead picture." The yellow dog stands for Jensen Huang; the dog symbolizes the frustration players feel toward him. This picture was posted by Maxsun’s official account long ago, and currently, every Chinese player calls Jensen Huang the "Yellow Dog" in anger.
Because of NVIDIA’s arrogance, EVGA withdrew from the GPU market, and Maxsun partnered with Intel to produce Arc graphics cards.
I’m not saying that if AMD or Intel replaced NVIDIA, they’d become more friendly. Big companies act the same way. I back AMD and Intel when I support healthy competition. I’ve purchased several models—7900xt, 7900gre, 6750gre, b580, a770, a380—to back them. Let’s all step up and compete with NVIDIA!
