Not sure if this necessarily belongs in this sub. I've been dinking around and exploring the world of SL lately and was curious what this subs opinions on the game were? Here's a screenshot I took while playing

It's the original Metaverse or VRChat platform.

I tried a few approaches when it began attracting attention, thinking it might spark some drama or breakups over accusations of infidelity. The idea intrigued me, but I didn’t find the same level of immersion as high-octane shooters or intense FPS games. It wasn’t about escapism in the same way as a thrilling sandbox experience. If people engaged offline and had genuine fun, I’d respect their choices. Likewise, if others enjoyed the experience without stepping into controversial territory, that’s fine too. Comparing it to other platforms reminds me of how SL focuses on safety and privacy, while Meta faced serious fines for mishandling user data.

we mourn the developers' struggle to maintain an old codebase
it's hard to believe they're still working on it after 25 years
