I want to know how long a laptop in that condition might last if it runs nonstop for most of the day.

It doesn't matter how long the laptop lasts.
With falling bitcoin prices, it's unlikely you'll get a positive return on investment for that device.
I won't go into more detail about a $1,000 cost and earnings between $0.54 and $0.58 each day.
More likely, the laptop or its parts will break down due to heavy bit-mining work and high temperatures, especially if used 22 to 24 hours daily.
Put your daily gains in a box and stop bit-mining.
Use the money to pay for the laptop or look for other ways to save or earn more.
Some places even reward recycling old bottles—Oregon, for instance, pays $0.10 per bottle.
Check your local program; you might need about 6 bottles a day to earn that amount.
