I should give it a shot. Praxair is just two blocks away and they offer dry ice and liquid nitrogen, right?

Absolutely, giving it a shot is the right approach. That’s exactly what makes being an enthusiast rewarding. I really prefer the full pot setups—FX and most Phenom II models with full LN2 cooling for the CPU. It means just more voltage and better performance.

Ryzen can work as a complete full-system platform if you find a model that handles the heat well. I think I did just that with my 2700X—it didn’t mind running in full potential, though I used a smaller configuration instead of the larger one.

The Ryzen temp wall is quite high, but I managed to lower it to -30°C on the Tec—it didn’t indicate any need for even colder settings. I still have some LN2 from the dry sleeves at work, though it seems there isn’t enough for a full overclock session. FX is what I’m aiming for; I want to go past 7GHz and into the 8GHz range. That’s definitely on my radar for my next extreme cooling project.

Absolutely, it feels a bit empty working alone in this group. But hey, the drinks are nice and chilly, and the gameplay is top-notch.

I just need one 8GHz submission for Cpu-z. That should meet my benchmark goals. It’s personal, not for the team.
