Hi guys, I’m narrowing it down to just two options within my budget, both are 16 inches.
The Lenovo Legion Pro 5i features an AMD Ryzen 7 7745HX processor, 32 GB DDR5 RAM, a 1 TB SSD, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 8 GB graphics, and a Quad HD display at 240 Hz.
The MSI Vector GP68 HX 13V comes with an i9-13950HX processor, 16 GB DDR5 RAM, a 1 TB SSD, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 12 GB graphics, and a WUXGA 1920x1200p screen at 144 Hz.
I’m wondering if the MSI Vector offers enough performance with its higher refresh rate display compared to the Lenovo model.

Hey there,
Without doubt, I would go with the MSI. The GPU is far and away ahead of the 4070 8gb. CPU's are similar performance in gaming, but with the MSI the 13950h happens to be a monster CPU in everything else, and leaves the 7745h behind a little.
Obvisouly the Lenovo has a better screen res. However, the second option, although a UXGA panel, will be maxed with with it's components. So you should expect some really smooth gaming.

I have a lot of power. It’s been the top laptop I’ve used. When considering the 240hz display, my mind was focused. However, based on the cost variation, I’d pick the MSI and 4080.
