What are the actual computer hardware needs for playing Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart?
I've spent a lot of time gaming and realized that the system requirements for any games are often much higher than they seem to need.
Their suggested specs are:
CPU: i5-8400/r5 3600
GPU: RTX 2060/RX 5700 | 6GB VRAM
RAM: 16GB
My PC specifications are:
CPU: i7-6700
GPU: RX 5700 XT 8GB
RAM: 16GB DDR4
Based on their recommendations, I can run at 1080p 60fps in medium settings with FSR2.1 enabled.
On my machine, I'm achieving 30-40 fps at the lowest settings and around 70-80 FPS at performance. My CPU is quite old—am I losing 20-30 fps because of it?
I’m planning to upgrade to an AM5 eventually, but I need a clear idea of what’s required for native 1080p playback, high or very high settings, and around 70-80 FPS.
FSR... it seems like a waste, it doesn’t differ much from running at the lowest settings in lower resolutions.
I've spent a lot of time gaming and learned that the technical needs for any game are often much higher than they seem. The system requirements page isn't very useful in this case.
I intend to upgrade to an AM5 board eventually, but I need to understand the exact specs needed to play at 1080p natively, with high or very high settings and around 70-80 FPS.

I've spent a lot of time gaming, and I've learned that the requirements listed on game pages are often too high. It's hard to trust those specs anywhere else.
I’m planning to upgrade to an AM5 eventually, but I need to know the exact needs for smooth play at 1080p native, with high or very high settings, and around 70-80 FPS.

When sharing a troubleshooting thread, it's standard to list your full system details. Include the following in your build description:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
RAM:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
Also mention the age of your PSU, the current BIOS version for your motherboard, and note that running at DDR4-3200MHz might limit performance.
FSR... it seems like a waste of time, just like setting everything to the lowest settings at lower resolutions.
Give it a try by running DDU to clear all GPU drivers (Intel, Nvidia, AMD) in Safe Mode, then install the newest driver from AMD’s support site via an elevated command—right-click the installer and select Run as Administrator?
