Hi everyone. The Hiren BootCD PE is a fan-made version that has never been updated in over two years, and you can find old programs on it. Is there a newer rescue drive option? I hope someone suggests something like the apps from H2 2020 or even from 2021.

Since Windows 7 let you attach a VHD and boot from it, no longer do you need to use a PE (Preboot Environment). You can just do a fresh install of Windows with whatever apps you want. It will work on any modern computer that has a BCD store. Just look for the option to go or search for "boot from vhd" in general.

Since Windows 7 let you attach a .vhd file and boot from it, nobody really needs PE anymore. You can just do a clean install of fresh Windows so there are no driver problems, then add whatever apps you want. It will work on any modern computer that has a BCD store, like most ones with USBs. Just look for "boot from VHD" or search online for boot from vhd(x).
