I used to love League of Legends but they took away solo-queue and let Diamond rank come for anyone who pre-made with three Challenger boosters. It’s frustrating when you’re the only one, and they pair you with a four-person team. Are there other competitive games that value individual skill? By rank or by stats. With strong skill caps so you can truly shine and impress others: "wow." Edit: Some games let you play with friends yet still let your skill show on the leaderboard as a solo player in rankable matches.

Super Smash Bros. Melee demands a significant time investment to fully grasp its mechanics and achieve top performance. Mastering numerous skills is essential for semi-professional play, and excelling in major events requires exceptional talent. The game features a 1v1 format alongside 2v2 matches, allowing solo competition without relying on teammates. It stands apart from games like LoL, offering a distinct genre and playing style. Competitive play occurs primarily through local tournaments rather than online platforms. While Dolphin emulation has improved considerably—reducing input lag to match console performance with clever techniques—the main competitive events remain held in-person.

Sure, I can join friends in casual games and it should work on a PC. Laughs.

I don’t identify as a fan or critic of either LoL or DotA 2. However, DotA 2’s turn system feels too complex for me. I’ve tried it and found it difficult to grasp, unlike the MOBA style I prefer. I’m looking for something simple to learn but challenging to master.

It works on PC using the Dolphin emulator (legal, though obtaining the game is uncertain), allowing local multiplayer sessions. Online play is possible via netplay, which is common in the community.

Battlefield 4 isn't worth the money. It feels unfinished... The next installment will be released, but we should keep an eye on it.

Trust me, Battlefield 4 isn't going to be phased out anytime soon. Many players started with hardcore mode, played for a while, then switched back to BF4. That shows just how solid it is. I believe no game in this industry will last forever. I've been playing League on and off since season 3, and I still miss that era. Season 5 was terrible, and eventually it's going to fade away too—just like with other titles.
