What are safe temps for a Sandy Bridge I7 2600k?
What are safe temps for a Sandy Bridge I7 2600k?
I believe the issue stems from the Motherboard temperature program in the AISuite called Thermal Radar (ASUS). I installed it last night after a power outage, and it showed an "Unable to overclock" error. After the second boot, it shut down, but the third boot worked fine. It seems like a multiple-tiered problem might be involved. My Coolermaster Hyper EVO is slow to start up quickly enough. I’ve heard that power outages or sudden power cuts with ASUS motherboards can cause this problem.
I’m not worried about replacing the chip and motherboard, even though it would be inconvenient to get another Windows copy. However, chips for this socket no longer come from manufacturers, making replacement difficult.

Max is 72.6 (refer to this link: http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Core_i5/In...33803.html)
Temperatures are acceptable.
I thought the numbers were close, but I meant 2600k... probably because of Sandy Bridge. Thanks for clarifying. The error was mine.

Not if you don't mind the noise.
I don't mind the noise... it's just that it's hitting 70c in Deus Ex Mankind Divided. I'm not sure if the Thermal Radar program is doing much, or maybe the fan isn't working properly anymore.
