Today 16GB remains sufficient, though it’s beginning to feel a bit tight. Given the modest price gap between 16GB and 32GB, opting for the larger capacity seems wise.

PC build aims to optimize performance based on application needs. For DDR5, I chose 32GB instead of the usual 16GB because it’s not significantly pricier. Everyone assumes they have enough RAM, but it’s important to balance memory with speed and clock rates.

DDR5 32GB is expected to offer improved performance compared to DDR4 at identical speeds and timings because of its optimized memory layout. DDR4 likely won’t see significant gains, resulting in minimal additional benefit.

Play games at a moderate level with titles like FPS and city simulations. Price differences between 16GB and 32GB aren’t significant, so I’ll choose the larger capacity.

I frequently install various modifications. My laptop has 16GB of RAM, but running Cities Skylines feels challenging. Since the game doesn’t use a dedicated GPU and relies on integrated graphics, that might explain the issue.

It demands a powerful processor. With a 3070 chip, it can struggle to maintain even 20 frames per second at 1440p without any enhancements.

Get 32MB, 16MB is noticeable when watching sunsets in today’s games. 32MB keeps you ahead for a few years, and the cost change won’t be huge. As Lurkin mentioned, it’s hard to recall anyone complaining about buying extra RAM... unless they ended up with 128MB just for streaming Netflix.
