Hello everyone, just installed my new Ryzen 5 5600X CPU. The idle temperatures aren’t as low as I expected from what I read online. Could I be making a mistake? The cooler installation was simple—just two screws, turned three times each way evenly. How could that be? Was the thermal paste applied correctly or too much? Another odd observation: my fans aren’t accelerating as expected. The sensors still indicate they’re running at max speed, but it now sounds more like a jet engine. When I put on the Air Cooler model you mentioned, it doesn’t make a loud roar anymore—it just hums softly and controls RGB with the Thermalrite Assassin King 120 SE.

There’s plenty of paste available. The idle temperature doesn’t matter much; what’s important is the load temperatures. As long as your CPU stays cool under stress, everything’s okay.

Normal AM4 idle readings are typical, verify full load temperatures to confirm the cooler is correctly installed.

You can test under load by running games and using them as a stress test.

You're seeing low performance in the cyberpunk benchmark, especially when using MSI afterburner with screen monitoring.
