Frequently switching the RAM can lead to instability, making it difficult to secure the memory properly.

This has never occurred before. Some boards I'm using are over 15 years old. I understand that improper RAM installation can cause issues, but I haven't encountered anything similar.

Like we're talking about literally just taking the RAM out of the slots and putting them back in? Yeah, I guess that's true. I guess that theoretically if you did it enough times (like hundreds or thousands, probably) there might be enough wear and tear on the "fingers" of the RAM stick or to the slot to cause a problem. I think it's functionally impossible that would ever happen though unless you purposefully set out to do it by just taking the RAM out and then reinserting it over and over and over and over and over for some indefinite length of time. If @Hm... is worried about damaging something simply by removing and replacing RAM modules a few times in the course of rebuilding or testing, there's no need for concern.

It’s fine as long as you’re changing it properly. I think we were discussing under 1000 times.
