I’m having difficulty identifying the root cause of a performance problem, or whether it's connected to a particular game. My goal is to achieve the best possible visual experience with Red Dead Redemption 2 on my PC. I’ve heard speculation that the game is not optimally designed, yet many users with powerful computer systems report no problems at all.

I recently updated my hardware to the following specifications:

* AMD Ryzen 9 3900X
* Asus ROG Strix X570-E motherboard
* 4 x 16GB G.Skill Ripjaws V DDR4 3200 memory
* MSi RTX 2080 Ti graphics card
* Installed on an Intel M.2 drive
* Monitor: ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q 144Hz at 2K resolution
* Additional monitors: One 1080p monitor, not used for gaming.

Despite possessing this substantial configuration, I'm uncertain whether I’m experiencing a personal issue or if there is something overlooked. It would reasonably be expected that my system could consistently deliver approximately 70 frames per second at Ultra or High settings, but the frame rate fluctuates, often staying below 60 and occasionally dropping as low as 40. I am seeking assistance from the community to resolve this issue.

That’s certainly unusual, and it's likely contributing to your low frame rates. Your Ryzen processor needs quick memory to operate at its best. Access your computer’s BIOS settings and adjust the RAM speed to 3200MHz. I'm not an expert in modifying memory speeds, but generally, enabling XMP should help. However, please consider this information with caution: [https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/commen...y_2133mhz/]. You should observe a significant improvement in performance with a 1000MHz enhancement. I firmly believe this was the root cause of your low frame rates.

Hey, that’s a somewhat unusual query—are you absolutely certain your RAM speed is configured at 3200MHz?

I apologize for this oversight; I inadvertently duplicated details from my order information regarding the components. All of them are operating at a speed of 2133MHz. Please excuse my lack of awareness—does that appear to be a typical performance level?

That’s definitely unusual, and it's likely contributing to your poor frame rates. Your Ryzen processor needs quick memory to operate at its best. To address this, you’ll need to access your computer's BIOS settings and adjust the RAM speed to 3200MHz. I’m not an expert in modifying RAM speeds, but according to what I've learned, enabling XMP should help. However, please consider this information with caution: [https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/commen...y_2133mhz/](https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/commen...y_2133mhz/). You should notice a significant performance boost from the 1000MHz difference. I strongly believe this discrepancy was the cause of your low frame rates.
