Hello,
My system occasionally powers off unexpectedly, and I would appreciate some guidance.
I think the power supply unit might be the cause, but I’m unsure how to confirm without replacing it first.

Details:
Operating System: Debian Trixie / KDE Plasma
Processor: 24 × AMD Ryzen 9 7900X (12-core)
Memory: 64GB Corsair Vengeance DDR5-5200
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6750 XT 12GB
Mainboard: ASUS TUF Gaming X670E-Plus WIFI | AMD X670E
PSU: 1000W - Corsair RMe Series

The shutdowns seem to happen only during certain games. I’ve never seen them in other situations. Even for games like Red Dead Redemption 2, which uses a lot of GPU, the system didn’t shut down—though it did on Indie titles. This suggests the issue might not be with the voltage itself.

What I tried:
- Checked logs using journalctl -b (no errors reported)
- Ran Memorytest (possibly miscounted)
- Performed benchmarks, found no anomalies
- After shutdown, GPU lights stayed on; I can’t power on until they’re off

I suspect there could be a problem with voltage spikes or something related to the PSU. It might also be connected to another component. Do you have any suggestions on how to test this further? Any logs that might help would be useful.

Thanks,
Pascal

Thank you for your message.
I'm using a Linux operating system and can't access Event Viewer or Reliability History.
I looked at the cables but didn't find any loose ones, though I'll check again later.
No visible damage to the electronics was seen.
The PC has been cleaned.
Since the shutdowns aren't consistently reproducible, it's hard to say if this has already made a difference.
