in apex i experience low fps but after plugging my cord into the outlet it returns to normal, yet the next day I have to repeat the process, possibly because some of you know the fix so i don’t have to keep doing it again. in a game like rust it doesn’t affect it but in most other games it does significantly

It might be the wall outlet you're using for your PC that has significant corrosion or is overloaded with devices. Consider trying a different outlet to check if the issue persists. You might need an electrician to install a new one, or you could handle it yourself if you're confident and own the property.

In an apartment, if you discover the outlet is defective, inform your landlord—they will likely be eager to replace it, as such issues can also pose fire risks.

I once experienced a similar situation in a friend's apartment where a floor lamp plugged into an outlet overheated and exploded. I advised him to report it right away, and they confirmed the outlet was faulty before replacing it.

These kinds of problems are best avoided, as they can be quite hazardous. If you notice a clicking sound when the PC powers down, it’s likely the PSU is protecting itself from overload.

It seems you're operating on a laptop. As per Frag's instructions, verify the battery settings and confirm whether the performance options are set for plugged in or battery power.

No, the issue might not be with the extension cord itself.

Never rely on an extension cord for your PSU power cord. Opt for a robust power strip with surge protection, preferably no longer than 6 feet, and ensure it uses a thick gauge cord with a 3-prong plug. Additionally, avoid overloading an outlet by connecting multiple devices together. For example, separate the TV and AVR into their own cords.

ignore it, the issue was a driver-related problem and it's resolved
