I’m unsure if this forum is the right place, but I’ve already tried troubleshooting and didn’t receive any help. So far, I’ve been using power line for a while without issues. The internet has always worked well, and I haven’t had to fix anything. Recently, my connection stopped working—I unplugged and replugged the adapters, reset the modem, but the problem persisted. Now my internet is down completely, even for basic sites like Google. I haven’t changed my ISP, and my phone’s Wi-Fi is fine, but it seems the power line connection might not be functioning at all. I’m not sure what to do next.

It seems one of the adapters might be faulty. Consider borrowing from others or friends who use the same adapters.

The issue is the modem is located far inside the house, affecting the power line due to its range. Although it performed perfectly for months with the current setup, connecting directly would require moving my whole PC and monitor throughout the house. I’ve been thinking about hiring someone to run the wiring through the basement but haven’t decided yet.

I don’t have extra space, but I can connect to the web—just a short while for a basic Google lookup... then it functions after some time.

When things fail, the system responds accordingly. Running a steady ping to your router helps determine stability—does it show consistent performance or frequent delays? (Use cmd prompt, type ping <router ip address> -t) On the network side, the gateway is your router's IP address.

Even damaged items can still perform some tasks, breaking doesn’t always mean they’re useless. Follow Jarsky’s advice and if it doesn’t help, look for a replacement adapter that you could return if it doesn’t solve the problem.
