Hi, I’m dealing with an Acer Swift 3 running an Intel EVO i5. On the home Wi‑Fi, Chrome and Edge take over a minute to load even for simple sites like Google.com. I’ve checked different times of day and when no one is online, so it’s not just network congestion. My internet speed is around 50 Mbps, which isn’t slow. At school, Chrome and Edge load much quicker, even during busy periods. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled Chrome, reset the router, changed adapter settings, updated drivers, but nothing helps. It only happens on this laptop, not on other devices.

The antivirus used is Trend Micro Maxium Security. Schools ask you to purchase your own laptop, then connect it to their network and run a restricted app for testing purposes so students stay honest. I don’t believe they install any monitoring software on the device, as that would violate privacy. This setup isn’t applied to other devices like phones or other computers—only this one.

Can I use it for testing purposes too? It won’t impact anything since it only runs when opened, and it’s not a background service.

Security programs are well-known for disrupting network connections, wouldn't you think?
