Zen 3 Threadrippers are consistently running behind schedule. Historically, Threadrippers lag about four to five months behind Ryzen 7s with the same architecture—now it's nearly nine months. If you're only concerned about PCIe lanes and not much about CPU speed, the 3960X already provides 64 PCIe 4.0 lanes beyond what the chipset supports, and I suspect Zen 3 TR won't see further gains there.

I also need 3090s (also available as 3-slot cards), and getting an A6000 for a duel slot GPU is just too expensive.
