I've noticed some discussions about games being too tough and needing to work on basic systems. Some claim a GTX980 can handle high-quality games at full speed, yet others push for more visually impressive titles while expecting the hardware to improve. They seem to expect one thing and then express frustration over not getting it.

Many PCMR individuals seem short-sighted and hypocritical. Although technical demands exist, our powerful GPUs make optimization unnecessary. Burnout became an optimization paradise—easily run on a potato. Now with abundant power, we can simply force it through. Optimizations would likely boost performance, like higher refresh rates in Burnout. Still, people tend to grumble and feel entitled, then complain when things fall short. It’s just part of the situation.

A developer creating an efficient game that demands dual 980s for performance would definitely go for it. That’s a big win!

As long as performance stays solid at 60fps (almost) with maximum settings on my r9 290 at 1080p, I’m okay. The main issues seem to be optimization challenges for high-end hardware (like in sli/crossfire) and slower performance on branded cards—whether from AMD or Nvidia.

They want improved optimization; creating a visually impressive game isn’t enough if it only works on the most powerful system. Yes, they’re requesting a lot, but it’s important to understand that the requirements they have don’t conflict with each other.
