Yes, it could still support fTPM even without the AMD chip, though the inclusion of the chip in the BIOS is important for proper functionality.

It needs to accommodate the fact that TMP is widely accessible. The Zen chip must also only require TPM functionality if it was initially designed for laptops used in business settings.

It’s very likely it is. TPM is available on every Zen CPU up to my knowledge, so it should be present. They did employ a specialized variant of the chip, but there’s no clear reason they’d eliminate that.

The chip appears tailored for Valve, though it's unclear if AMD plans to back Windows drivers. IGN notes you can run Windows 10, but they don’t provide further details on their reasoning: https://www.ign.com/articles/steam-deck-...-gaming-pc

We lack certainty about several aspects. The custom AMD chip may not support tTPM, possibly targeting consoles instead. Touchscreen, controllers, touchpad, chipset, GPU, and sound drivers are likely missing, though Windows installation remains possible—your experience could be limited and gaming options restricted. SecureBoot might be absent, which could mean the console isn’t protected against rootkits, a concern for Valve since they may not prioritize it. Valve hasn’t confirmed they’ll provide official drivers, so the device appears only in marketing. Warranty implications are unclear; some OEMs won’t cover systems without the original OS, making it risky. We can expect community efforts to create workarounds and guides, but early results may fall short of the polished official experience.
