Hey everyone, I'm curious about how soon PC and console gamers might be able to play together in the same game. Right now, it seems like they're not doing it often enough. Things like COD: AW are examples where cross-platform play isn't available, which makes it harder for fans of both systems to enjoy the experience together.

It's not impossible. The decision depends on whether the developers choose to invest in extra features. This topic is like wondering when PC Skype users will be able to connect with Xbox users. Check out the Portal 2 co-op—it's already been achieved. More importantly, fair multiplayer on PC could clash with console experiences, especially regarding accuracy and aim assistance. That might be the key consideration.

It seems unlikely this will occur soon. Gamers on PC might ruin their consoles, sparking both online and real-world backlash along with further issues.

When strong demand influences big firms to reconsider, if Microsoft remains stable, they might combine Xbox with PC gaming, leveraging their capabilities, though they won’t act due to perceived lack of necessity.

It's the developer's decision in fact.

Keyboard and mouse versus controller—believe it or not, Sony and Microsoft won’t let it happen. They don’t want anyone discovering the fact that PC is better than their consoles.

Essentially, you're wondering about the timeline for when younger children might start expressing strong opinions online and whether they're capable of such behavior. And you're also concerned about how they compare to more mature individuals. Hopefully, it never comes to that.

Crossplatform might not be feasible. Higher resolutions would let us view more at once, providing an edge. Plus, using a controller like a mouse could offer better precision and speed compared to a console button.

You can control it using a mouse, keyboard, and monitor connected to your console. (I've noticed people at LAN bringing their consoles in.)

Absolutely understood. You're aware of the limitations, but there are still challenges with DPI, sensitivity, mouse acceleration, and the PC's better specs compared to consoles. Also, I'm curious about when this event happened—what specific details are you remembering?
