Ways to address error beep codes on Mac computers
Hi everyone, I experienced a serious SOS alert on my 2007 iMac. After checking online, I realized it wasn't just a simple restart solution. Several guides pointed to an EFI firmware problem caused by a failed update. The only way to resolve this was to disassemble the laptop, remove the motherboard, and replace the EFI chip using soldering techniques—though this process is similar to what you'd do on a MacBook Pro. Here are two approaches: 1) Shut down the device, 2) Unplug the power cord, wait 15 seconds, then reconnect; hold the power button for up to 30 seconds. 3) While pressing the button, listen for a prolonged beep followed by the Apple sound and a white screen. Once the screen appears, release the button. Let the computer restart automatically, which should fix the firmware issue. After a few restarts, it should turn back on. If not, repeat steps 1–3 but press Cmd+R before powering it up. For more details, just let me know.
