Watercooling Pump Placement
Watercooling Pump Placement
I own a Laing D5 and am experimenting with a new WCing setup in a 450D. I'm using one of the EK brackets that allows mounting the pump onto a 120mm fan slot, placing it on a rad that draws air in. My concern is whether this setup could negatively affect the pump. It has a maximum operating water temperature of 65°C, and I haven't reached that level (water stays around low 40s). I've also noticed many images showing pumps near rads, wondering if moving air past it might help. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
The air passing through the radiator won't be warm. That's okay. The airflow might not be perfect, but it shouldn't affect your temperature or noise if everything else is normal.

Thank you, I thought it wasn't a big problem but it's nice to confirm it's okay!
