You just purchased a 3090Ti and decided to install water cooling. It seems EKWB doesn’t produce plates compatible with your specific card, and this isn’t likely to change in the future. I own a Gigabyte 3090Ti. What makes the Gigabyte card unique enough to prevent that compatibility? Why does it seem like no one else can make plates for this model? I’m really confused and frustrated—you spent around 2k on a card meant for water cooling, and now I’m worried it won’t work. Anyone know if there’s a company that makes plates specifically for this card?

If the 3090 is overheating, bring it back to us—especially if it's new. The GPU shouldn't need any water cooling to address the issue.

I once cooled a system using 4 980's. I invested more than a year in research and building so I was confident everything would function properly. Why invest 2k+ in a GPU without doing the work first?

I’m not experiencing any heating problems. The main reason is that I plan to run a custom waterloop for my CPU, so it makes sense to include the 3090ti in the setup.

I've never encountered a card without waterblock support.

You've just landed a fortunate find, having encountered various cards over the years that lack full cover block protection (typically from Gigabyte). I reviewed the block manufacturers I'm familiar with—Bykski, Alphacool, EK—and none of them offer a block for that specific card. It seems unlikely such a product exists. Your current choices are either return the card and receive one with proper aftermarket support, accept it as is (the air cooler really does help), or opt for a universal block (though this isn't ideal since you'll need to manage VRM and memory cooling, plus most options are tailored for smaller dies rather than the large GA-102).

No firm guidelines exist on how PCBs are arranged. Your success in finding waterblocks for your GPU was probably just a coincidence, as most don’t offer them.
