My friend's monitor is connected to his computer but lacks an account. He reports issues when the monitor stays off for several days, especially overnight, though it’s less severe then. After restarting, part of the screen fails and the device shuts down eventually. A video attached shows this behavior. Usually fixing it involves powercycling both the monitor and PC, which typically takes around 10 minutes. This time it took longer—multiple hours—and nothing seemed to resolve it. He suspects capacitors might be the cause, which aligns with the timing after extended downtime, but he’s unsure. Anyone with insights would be helpful!

There seems to be an issue with the monitor. It's unlikely you can return it, but you could try keeping it active with a screensaver instead of turning it off.

I'm not entirely clear about what you're referring to by "heat in the monitor thing." Could you clarify? It might help to explain further so I can give you an accurate explanation. No, unfortunately, that isn't a returnable issue. The current fix is having a black screen that fills the entire screen, preventing the monitor from turning off or leaving it on when he's away. It's frustrating because power outages happen and he was hoping for a better solution, even though I think it's likely a hardware problem.

If possible, send back the item. The monitor has a defective hardware part; we know it’s not due to a faulty cable since a single or two bad connectors won’t stop it from showing strange behavior.

Seems to perform poorly in cold conditions. Agree with @Ada1
