You were checking your Ryzen 5 3600's temperature using AIDA64 Extreme. It seems typical for the CPU temps to rise to around 50-60°C while streaming or browsing, then drop back down to 39-40°C after a short pause. This behavior is normal under load.

What graphics card are you using? If it can't handle VP9 decoding, your CPU will take over the work. In that scenario, adding the H264ify extension could help reduce the strain, though you'll only get around to 1080p video quality.

Firefox The temperatures change depending on usage. Gaming raises the heat, while browsing keeps it higher. Leaving it open for a while lets it cool down to a more comfortable range.

Stock cooler? These temperatures are actually okay with Ryzen, but nearing 90°C becomes an issue and the temperature fluctuates a lot. Regarding VP9 decoding, I'm not sure if it's fixed now—years ago Firefox didn't support GPU acceleration for it, so you might want to try Chrome to see if performance improves.

The Ryzen 5000 performs well under most tasks and then stabilizes nicely. That's completely typical.

CPU runs smoothly now—Shadow Rock LP, though it’s been five years since I used it with my FX 8300 before the Ryzen. My main worry was overheating during video playback and browsing, which felt a lot alike while gaming.

It seems the temperature changes based on how long you keep browsing. Stopping after 30 seconds brings it down from 55-60°C to 39-40°C.
