It's true that some versions of Watch Dogs on PC had reduced graphics quality. This was often due to performance issues, but developers later released updates to improve the visuals. It wasn't always a myth—many players found ways to enhance the experience through patches or settings adjustments.

The graphics were reduced since their showcase at E3-2012-13. A mod can activate the significantly improved visuals.

Why would they make those changes? It’s not beneficial for business, and it feels like they’re deceiving us at E3.

They can get better with a mod from The Worse and another developer. Ubisoft said the settings were taken away because of problems, but most people think it was a lie. They probably kept the PC version hidden, maybe to make consoles look more appealing.

It seems someone is doubting a decision made by a Ubisoft Montreal employee. The guide mentions instructions for enabling certain features after applying a patch.

It doesn't make sense that graphics in a completed and tested game would cause issues—it violates basic logic.

They were extracting components from their systems to supposedly boost performance, stability, and clarity in various settings. In truth, this action reduces performance, has minimal impact on stability, and lowers the readability of materials in those environments.
