Performance problems seem resolved, yet the real experience feels disappointing—clearly the excitement was exaggerated.

I currently have a 900p monitor and if it can handle it, it will run at around 30 FPS on Ultra. It should be fine. Your setup is stronger than the PS4, so it’s a good match. I’m considering buying this game—should I? I tried it out and it worked, but the performance made me question it.

I bought it during a discount a few months back for $30 and it’s been worth every penny. I don’t usually rush through a game to try and beat it, but a few sessions really capture my interest. Watch Dogs stood out to me. I make sure not to let others’ opinions sway my thoughts, and I’ve found myself really enjoying it. Right now I’m playing on my Lenovo Y50 at 1080p without any issues. I’m pretty confident the updates have improved it, so I haven’t noticed any bugs lately. I’m having a great time with it.

They likely do have it. The last time I tried it (Arrrr!!) it performed poorly. It would freeze every three seconds, and the freezing lasted about half a second. It became really frustrating for me. That’s why I stopped playing it. I was wondering if it had been optimized.

It functions well. Consider downloading the lower version 1.0 for improved performance. The game appears significantly enhanced with it.

It's unclear whether the improvement came from optimization or just luck. I've been playing for about two months now and haven't encountered any issues.

It seems like you're wondering if the game improved since your last playthrough in June.

I've been enjoying Watch Dogs and it's running smoothly. It requires quite a bit of memory. My overall RAM increased from 1GB to about 7.9 GB, and I had to share some of my brother's 4GB so he could play without issues. Now I have around 8 GB total. The game still stutters occasionally, especially when running at high speeds with a car, but it's not as bad as before. It doesn't completely free up RAM, which gradually raises the usage. The performance is still usable. I can play it on Ultra settings (1600x900) without any AA and maintain 30 to 45 FPS. The game looks much better compared to its original release. I'd suggest it now, but make sure you have plenty of RAM—at least 4GB for normal use, 8GB or more if you want smooth performance. If you're aiming for the lowest settings, you'll need a minimum of 4GB, and ideally 10GB or more given how much it uses.

Following the graphics mods, Ubisoft abruptly removed Watch Dogs, leaving behind unresolved performance problems. They seem determined to erase the memory of it. Fortunately, Unity provided a solution, though it was significantly worse. While Watch Dogs wasn't terrible, it's an unremarkable title overall.

How am I still experiencing 14fps drops even when using the lowest possible settings at 720p? I usually see steady 45-75fps in other recent titles.
