Considering your setup, the Ryzen 7 2700x could offer better performance than your current Ryzen 5 2600 and Radeon 5700 XT. With an average of around 160 FPS on Fortnite and Apex Legends, upgrading might help you achieve higher frame rates. Expect improved responsiveness and smoother gameplay if you decide to upgrade. Thanks for your questions!

I recommend the 3600 if the cost matches in your area:

I had the same idea, but I’m not sure if your motherboard can handle the 3600. You mentioned you have an MSI B450 Gaming Plus.

This motherboard supports up to a 3900x and you won't have any issues—just ensure a BIOS update is installed first.

I believe my motherboard isn't compatible with that... If it were, I'd be happy to upgrade to it.

Bios can be updated without a CPU, and updates with a CPU can introduce support for 3rd generation devices.

After updating the BIOS, the best processor would depend on your needs, but a 3600 would likely remain a top pick for you.

Yes it's a great CPU, otherwise the 3700x if you stream too or the 3900x is even better if you use your computer for work.
