Earlier, I replaced the existing cable with a new one to the router (changing from 3 to 4 cables). The new connection worked, but there was still no internet. Anyone have any suggestions? Note: Huawei router.

Review your VLAN settings and confirm it's a LAN port, not a WAN port.

Huawei offers a wide range of routers. I need more details, like a specific model number. Ports can sometimes stop working. I've experienced two routers where ports didn't respond to a connected cable. You might try using a different cable or plugging it into another device to see if it works. If it doesn't respond and you think the port is correct, it's likely dead.

If you're correct, it was designed for a different setup, likely without the fiber optic connection. I wasn't aware of that initially.
