In short, I owned a PC three years ago with an older Intel setup. I experienced USB problems because I used certain USB ports (like those for sim racing gear). After upgrading my PC three years prior, I switched to an EVGA BQ850W power supply and everything worked fine. Last year, I decided I didn’t really need the 850W model and went with an EVGA G3 750W for better efficiency in my Gold+ build. Both models support 24A at 3.3V and 20A at 5V, plus 70A overall. Occasionally, I faced USB input lag or had devices freeze, which forced me to reboot a few times. Eventually, I thought it was time to return to the 850W for more headroom since I didn’t want these issues again. That’s when I bought an EVGA 850GT model, but it turned out to be a total letdown. I experienced lagging on USB devices during reboots and file transfers, which was really frustrating. I was misled by the brand and thought EVGAs were sufficient, only to be disappointed. Later, I tried an EVGA 850G5, which didn’t meet expectations based on Tom’s Hardware reviews. I realized I should have trusted a more established brand instead of relying on a PSU. Now, I’m not sure what to expect from the G5—can I just leave it in or should I upgrade to something like the Seasonic G6? I still need the 70A overall and the proper USB specifications (3.3V or 5V). I’m also unsure if USB is compatible with 3.3V or 5V. Right now, I have three PSUs, and I’m considering returning the 850GT if the G5 doesn’t look promising.
Specs: x570 Aorus Elite, 32GB DDR4 3600, 3700X, SSD+HDD, RTX 3070, 3 monitors, and 10-12 USB devices connected.
I'm not stuck at this point. but i have no idea what i'm doing as you can see and i already spent more time learning about psu-s than i ever wanted. No g7 available there is a 2nd hand g6. there is a seasonic focus but it only 20A on 3.3 and 5v.
main names are Be quiet, game max pro, gigabyte, corsair rm is available by a quick search in 850w. i don't give my money to corsair anymore for earlier costumer support issues tough.
I need to switch to Corsair RM850X 2021 since nothing else is available right now. The Evga G5 looks fine, but I’ll change it for peace of mind.

I faced a nearly identical problem with USB ports on two family rigs, and it persisted for years. The issue was especially bothersome because internet connectivity relied on USB Wi-Fi receivers. In the end, AMD had years of USB bugs in Ryzen boards that couldn't be fixed by users. Eventually, AMD addressed it through BIOS updates. That's the advice I give you right away. Additionally, I suggest updating the chipset drivers directly from the AMD website after installing the BIOS.

I'm worried about the limited current because only 20A is available on +3.3V and +5V. With 12 USB devices, it shouldn't be too close to exceeding capacity; USB 2.0 can go up to 2.5W and USB 3.0/3.1 up to 4.5W. It's probably the USB controller is being overwhelmed. If you're really concerned, consider using a powered USB hub—it's unlikely most devices require that much power.
