Want to push my RX 580 harder? I'm worried how it will handle high speeds.
I recently bought a Sapphire RX 580 Nitro+ with only 4GB of video memory and decided to try making the graphics card work faster by turning up its clock speed. On the official website, it says that the engine clock can go as high as 1411MHz, but I managed to run it stable at even 1550MHz without raising the voltage. This makes me wonder if the card will get damaged or stop working properly after too much boosting? Is there a limit on how fast I should boost it, and would doing so reduce its lifespan? Should I stick to my current clock speed instead? By the way, the computer gets very cool when playing games or under heavy load. The temperature never goes above 55 degrees Celsius while the fans are running at their highest setting. I have been gaming for a week with this setup and haven't had any problems yet. However, I'm still nervous about it because there is sometimes a buzzing sound coming from the power supply when the PC is turned off. What do you think? Thanks!
Heat and electricity can shorten how long things last, but it's okay as long as they don't go too far.
