pfsense is receiving two ports now. It seems the B525 isn't working properly. I switched to a regular router and managed to access its settings, but I'm still unable to connect to the internet. Could the Huawei B525 be the issue?

The setup should follow this structure: WAN --------- b525 ----------- pfsense PC ----------- rest of the network The b525 functions as a modem/router combo. It connects to the internet via its phone line socket (usually labeled WAN) and links to the network behind it, or to the pfsense computer through its Ethernet ports. An Ethernet port marked LAN/WAN could support an Ethernet-based internet link, but that would require another device between the port and the cable/DSL/fiber connection, which isn't mentioned. You should use the DSL socket for the phone line connection, not the LAN/WAN port. Remember, RJ45 connectors match Ethernet cables but are thinner and flatter. The devices behind the b525—such as your pfsense box—should be linked to the standard LAN ports on the b525, allowing either the WAN/LAN or DSL port to handle internet traffic to the ISP.

You have 4G internet available. To connect the TP-Link 3420 router to your B525, you should link it to the WAN port. If you're planning to replace PF-Sense, this setup will work since it won't be used for ISP connectivity with 4G.

What type of device links via 4G? It could be a smartphone or a 4G modem. Please share more details here. A diagram of the setup would help clarify.

Are you checking if the b525 is a 4G router? If it's about connecting the LAN to WAN via TP link, then yes. What issue are you facing?

The issue seems to lie with the WAN port, likely intended for a second internet connection where 4G acts as a backup. I think pfSense should connect its WAN port to a b525 LAN port. Then set the WAN on pfSense to DHCP. This would create double-NAT, which might be causing the problem because the LAN IP range on pfSense must differ from what the b525 is using, otherwise it won't function properly.
