Wake on lan
Wake on lan
I own an ASUS Rampage IV Extreme with no Wake-on-LAN in BIOS, though I saw Wake via PCIe device. I’m curious about using a PCIe network card to enable Wake-on-LAN for booting the PC. Since I already have Wake-on-LAN set up in Windows and it functions properly, I’m wondering if I could achieve this through BIOS settings or even BIOS modes with Duel BIOS support. No idea how to implement it or if it’s feasible.
On certain boards, enabling Wake by PCIE turns on when you power them up. You might need to adjust a few settings to make it work—like turning off power-saving features. On my board, I set Wake by PCIE and the onboard LAN supports WOL. This setup also lets you use a PCIE card if it’s properly set up in the BIOS.
