W480 IOMMU issue causing a white screen and failure to install AMD drivers
My W480 has faced problems with AMD graphics driver setup. I've attempted multiple fresh Windows 10 installs in safe mode, installed the GPU driver while the display wasn't connected, and tried three different driver versions for various card tiers. When I turned on IOMMU in BIOS, the whole screen turned white no matter which GPU was used—RX470s, HD 4650s, and even the built-in GPU. All six cases caused the BIOS boot screen to go completely white and the system to loop. There were numerous Windows WHEA errors linked to IOMMU issues, and sometimes the computer would freeze entirely. The memory passed all tests, so hardware seems fine. I re-flashed the BIOS image, which improved the situation (instead of a white screen with logo visible, the logo and "press del to enter setup" turned white while other areas stayed black). I contacted Gigabyte and filed a return merchandise authorization, but they said no issues with the board. I suspect the board is slightly bent—perhaps a small misalignment of about 1/8 across its length. What might be causing this? My machine runs an i5-10600K with 2666 DDR4 Vengeance RAM.
