VPNAmazon restricting PIA
VPNAmazon restricting PIA
Amazon seems to be restricting PIA's access to its US servers. I’m encountering errors like “your connection was interrupted” or “this site can’t be reached.” Edit: This issue appears on the main site, not just Amazon Video. Changing my country should restore normal access. I’ll note that I’ve only used PIA for about a month, so I’m unsure if this is widespread or recent. I’m also new to the forum but have been following it for years. Please confirm if I’m violating any posting rules.
Have you experimented with private browsing alongside a VPN? Amazon could be tracking cookies, which might cause issues; private mode prevents old cookies from revealing your location. I’m not sure if you’ve encountered blocks from US servers yet.
Accessed via PIA US Florida, Amazon.com and .co.uk are functioning properly.
Fun fact, I just linked via US Seattle with no problems. But since I'm in the UK, there might be an issue in the NA network.
I think PIA uses several external IP addresses per location, and not every one is being blocked—just a rough idea.
I’d need to picture that scenario. However, the links between different sections suggest two possibilities: 1) Amazon is trying to prevent PIA but is missing certain requests, or 2) malicious entities are using PIA equipment or services, and Amazon has blocked those devices.
I recognize the guideline. However, this wasn't meant to be public information. I tried to alert other PIA members about possible complications. It was shared in the Network discussion section, not labeled as a news update. No unauthorized sharing occurred.
