I own a Corsair K100 RGB keyboard with a volume scroll wheel. It functions well for gaming when I press alt+tab, but it doesn’t respond during gameplay unless I do that. Is this the expected behavior? Are you restricted from adjusting volume while playing Steam games? THIS issue appears mainly in Resident Evil titles.
Yes, you can adjust the volume using the keyboard in Resident Evil titles.
That's something I observed too. Some titles allow volume adjustments, others don’t, and some even display a small volume control bar while others don’t—especially when full screen is on. It’s definitely one of those frustrating inconsistencies across Steam games. (Not sure if other platforms or DRM systems handle it better) I’m going to look into Re3 right now… EDIT: Yeah, Re3 is definitely one of those games that won’t let you change the volume at all… I swear I found a setting, but I can’t figure it out. Maybe it’s just Windows being Windows… I think we’re talking about the keyboard-controlled volume, not the game’s in-game level. I really believe this has changed in the past year or so—before this issue popped up, most games worked fine, including controls and sound. It seems like either Steam or Windows is responsible for this change.)
