It indicates continuous degradation without prior issues. Raising the voltage seems necessary for resolution.

I didn't raise it because it was already occurring. The rating went up to 4.7 from 4.5 and 1.2 increased to 1.27 before the issue happened.

Skip the adjustments and try again. The overclock I set up in August on an i9-9900K at 5GHz with all cores running at 1.27V only caused issues in certain games recently. I think the recent Windows update is to blame. My six-core setup also struggles—though I don’t play Warzone, the last major Windows update led to crashes or pauses when using my overclocked configuration. Removing the overclocks resolves the problems. I’ve been using them since 2018 without any issues, but now they’re not working.

During manual adjustment of the CPU configuration, SIicon lottery plays a significant role. Only someone who directly tests your Intel CPU can accurately determine the ideal voltage without trial and error. I’ve encountered some exceptional 9900K units that maintain stability at 5.4Ghz with 1.37V, while others barely meet the minimum requirements for 9900 performance, needing around 1.39V to function at 5.0Ghz. I recommend identifying the lowest boot voltage suitable for a specific speed. A simple method is to set your CPU to its default turbo (for example, in Windows 10, configure both minimum and maximum CPU power at 100% under your power plan), check the Vcore via CPUZ, add 0.02, and test this manually in BIOS. Once you locate this value, increase it by another 0.02 and conduct a stress test such as AIDA64 FPU for at least 15 minutes to observe any sudden BSODs. Then add another 0.03 and run the Hardcore stress test Pirme 95 Small FTTS, monitoring for thread drops or failures. If everything proceeds smoothly, you can be confident this speed and Vcore configuration is stable for regular use, provided the Vcore stays below 1.4V.

From what I've learned, a 4.7 GHz processor only needs minimal voltage. Just power down the PC and gradually increase it. It took me about a week of turning it on and off to reach the desired speed with my i9.
