During the latest build using a 7800x3d and B650 chipset with Wi-Fi, I installed the newest non-beta BIOS and turned on Expo. The VDDCR SOC is displaying 1.304 in hwinfo. This value seems typical; voltages above 1.3 are usually safe and don’t harm the motherboard or CPU.

Typically boards should start at 1.25V with EXPO turned on (for a 6000 CL30/32 setup, not a 6200/6400 XMP model), making 1.3V a bit too high. I don’t think a big difference matters much, but it’s better to keep it lower. Reducing the voltage might actually improve performance in some cases, as SOC voltage affects power limits and memory clock scales with frequency.

You're curious about why your board isn't capping it at 1.25v despite using the newest BIOS (beta) and the latest non-bios versions. It seems the voltage limit might not be applied correctly or there could be other factors at play.

You're unsure about the memory kit. It seems MSI likely set a default voltage of 1.3V, which is safe since it's higher than necessary. You can adjust it manually if you're concerned.

I own a B650 Tomahawk and face this exact problem, same voltage as you did. I also tried the latest beta BIOS without using memory context restore.
