running Cinebench R20 in a short burst is fine, but it's running too fast. Is PBO related to the issue?
reviewing voltages in BIOS helps identify issues. Low voltage readings appear in BIOS, idle HWInfo, and Ryzen Master reports when values drop below 1V. The concern lies with the load voltage, which can be dangerously high. Based on Intel and ASUS motherboard information, I need to test manually adjusting it to 1.25V to see how the system responds.
Turning off the 'core performance boost' resolved the issue, as it appeared to increase voltage too much. In stress tests, I now see 1.27V with spikes up to 1.28V, which is a big drop from the previous 1.50V. The CPU boost reached 3.6GHz on all cores, up from 3.8GHz before. It seems okay now. I might try manual overclocking later after getting more comfortable with AMD.
I turned it off completely. I’m okay with 3.6GHz across all cores. My motherboard has a weak CPU that runs at 1.5V to hit 3.8GHz with PBO, and the motherboard keeps supplying 1.5V by default.
