I own a DVD copy of Anno 1800 on my system. I used lutris to install it, and everything started fine. After about six months, the program stopped functioning. It would open but then display a black screen and close. I stopped playing for a while before trying again. Once reinstalled, it worked until I restarted the PC and the issue returned. I thought about deleting and reinstalling, which fixed it this time. I copied the new files and rebooted, but it didn’t work. I tried using rsync with options to preserve paths, but that didn’t help either. I’m confused—why does this happen? I even checked if I could make them identical by copying over the prefixes, but it still didn’t resolve the problem. Any idea how to troubleshoot this? OS is Debian 11. Thanks!
