Hello, I’m not very familiar with computers, but I have a serious issue. I usually play games on my dad’s PC, and he needed some software. The license cost about 150 USD, which made me think it was too expensive. Since my parents are from Asia, he asked me to download it, but I didn’t really understand what I was getting. After installing it, I encountered a virus problem. When I tried to remove it with Windows Defender, nothing worked. I also downloaded Malwarebytes, but it caused my browser and other apps to crash. Now when I try to fix the malware on my PC using Chrome, Edge, or Internet Explorer, everything freezes and the system uses all resources. I’ve tried using Windows Defender Offline and renamed a file, but it still crashes. My GPU, CPU, and internet are all heavily used. What should I do? I’m really struggling and need help.

I would consider using a virus protection tool that supports booting from a USB drive without Windows, as described here: https://www.lifewire.com/free-bootable-a...ls-2625785. The process involves downloading another machine to generate the USB, then entering BIOS to start from there instead of launching Windows.

If safe mode doesn’t resolve your issue, the simplest option is to reinstall Windows. Your subject might be taken off as piracy isn’t permitted, but the most straightforward choice is definitely a clean reinstall. If you need to preserve data, try backing it up beforehand. The main takeaway is to avoid downloading content illegally (especially if you’re unsure), as it can lead to serious consequences.

Because it's infected, I wouldn't use it. This setup is basically untrustworthy, so anything you do with it is too. It could disrupt the process just like it does your downloads. You should consider using another machine and booting from the USB directly without starting Windows first.
